When did Cannaby cross over the river Esk and land on the Bowholm? various old maps have Cannaby

between the River Esk and River Liddel.
what's it all about... The modern day Canonbie village was not the main center of population in times gone by. As recently as the 1850s there was only a handfull of buildings at the Bowholm (Canonbie)
